About Kuluva School

Kuluva School of Nursing and Midwifery is private not for profit (pnfp) organization and is under the umbrella of Uganda protestant Medical Bureau. Kuluva School of Nursing and Midwifery started the training of Nursing Assistants in 1985.

In 1988 commenced the training of Midwifery Assistants, Community Health Assistants and Vaccinators.This training did not have a formal structure and there no buildings or other infrastructures. The training was for the indigenous secondary school leavers who lived around and the purpose was to alleviate the staffing shortage that existed in the hospital.

In October 1992 the school was accredited by Uganda Nurses in may 1993 where Driciru Monica Efia the current principal happened to be in the group of the pioneers for the certificate in nursing. In 2004 the training of certificate in comprehensive Nurses commenced. In year 2012, Certificate in Nursing was reinstated and the the same training of Diploma in Nursing Extension commenced

On 29th June 2015, Kuluva School of Nursing and Midwifery was formally accredited by Ministry of Education and Sports to train Diploma and Certificate Programs Examined by Uganda Nurses and Midwives Examinations Board (UNMEB)
